Additional enrichment activities may be organized to meet the needs and talents of the students. The following interscholastic and extra-curricular activities are made possible to the students through parent and teacher leadership:

Open to students in grades 4–8. Students are trained under the direction of the parish priests.

Instrumental band is offered for grades 3 - 8. Students are organized into beginner, intermediate, and advanced bands based on their ability and experience. Students practice during the school day and perform at special events throughout the year.

Interested students in middle school are able to sign up for a variety of genres that the book club will explore during the course of the year.

Chess Club is available to students in Grades 1 - 8. The goal of the SJB Chess Club is to have fun while playing the game of chess. Students are divided into seniors (5th - 8th grade, aka Knights) and juniors (1st - 4th grade, aka Bishops). Students will learn strong openings, strategy, checkmates, notation, and how to use chess timers.

Students in grades three through eight may join the choir. Regular practices are held during school. The choir sings at school liturgies, selected parish liturgies, and special events.

It’s Academic is available to students in middle school who compete in a Jeopardy-type competition in all subject areas with other students in the diocese.

Interested students in grade 7 and 8 compete in a series of regular season contests held after school during the months of November, December, and January. These contests are competitions against other schools in SJB’s region. Regular practices are held to help students prepare for contests by focusing on math topics and problem solving strategies.

Science Olympiad is available to students in the 7th and 8th grades. Competition is among private, parochial, and public school students. Students prepare for unique events like Roller Coaster, Road Scholar, and Codebusters.

SMARTIES is an educational tutoring group led by SJB 8th grade students during TEC.

This after school program is open to students in grades K - 2 who want to experience the beautiful game of soccer.

Membership consisted of two elected representatives for each homeroom of grades three to eight. Student council officers are elected by eighth grade students. Student council meetings are held after school. Council activities are usually open to all students in grades K - 8.
