EC3

Our Early Childhood Program for three year olds here at St. John the Beloved School has blossomed.  This program employs developmentally appropriate practices for young children.  We also aligned our program with the standards and guidelines set forth by the Diocese, the State of Delaware, the NAEYC (National Association for the Education of Young Children) and the NCEA (National Catholic Educational Association.)

Each classroom has a full-time teacher along with a full-time paraprofessional. Our teachers for this program are state certified and fully licensed with a Master's degree in Elementary or Early Childhood Education. Our Early Childhood Program is seen as an integral part of St. John the Beloved School and shares the mission of our school which is to teach and model the Gospel of Jesus Christ, foster academic excellence, and encourage service to others.  To be eligible for this program, children must be three years old by August 31st and must be toilet trained (no Pull Ups.)  .

FOR 3 YEAR OLD APPLICATIONS:

Toilet training is teaching your child to recognize their body signals for urinating and having a bowel movement and notifying someone that they need to use the bathroom. It also means teaching your child to use a potty chair or toilet correctly and at the appropriate times.

Welcome to Our Lady of Angel's 4 year old Early Childhood Program (ECP) at
St. John the Beloved Catholic School.  Our classrooms include a certified early
childhood teacher and a full time paraprofessional in each.  We offer a full day program
that meets Monday through Friday, from 7:35 a.m. to 2:35 p.m.  Our program
offers a nurturing educational environment that is geared toward enhancing social
and emotional skills, while engaging students with a variety of stimulating academic
choices.  The 4 year old Early Childhood Program follows the Delaware State
Standards while incorporating the Catholic Diocese of Wilmington Standards to
include specific values of Respect, Reverence, and Responsibility.

Our ECP introduces our children to our Mission Statement:  "To teach, model the
Gospel of Jesus Christ, foster academic excellence, and encourage service to others."
